It is the first time Chrysler Jeep has been represented by Bells, while the Mitsubishi site is the group’s third venture with the Japanese manufacturer.
The site has two eight-car showrooms and space for 80 used cars along with a shared aftersales department. It is a flagship site for Mitsubishi in terms of the manufacturer’s new corporate identity and is the first time it has had a presence in Milton Keynes.
“Even though we are a virgin franchise in a virgin territory we are very excited about the prospects. This is a massive opportunity for us,” says David Wyeman, general manager of Bells Motor Group.
The showroom was previously a green field site and has been purpose built for the two franchises. Bells’ other Mitsubishi sites, a solus outlet in Bedford and another dual showroom, with Volvo, in Northampton, have both been refurbished to meet new standards.
The group has not ruled out further expansion with Mitsubishi, which is enjoying a renaissance with Colt and Lancer.
“The marque has grown at a cracking rate and now has a fantastic product range. We are committed to the franchise and confident of its future,” adds Wyeman.
