More than 80% of fleet vehicles will be covered by menu pricing by the end of March, following developments by the 1link Service Network.
The network has been adopted by 15 manufacturers in the UK. Ford, Vauxhall, Renault, VW, Citroen and Peugeot already use the menu pricing option, covering eight out of every 10 cars in the fleet vehicle parc.
“Fleets, manufacturers and dealers all like menu pricing because of the predictability that it brings to buying maintenance services,” says Ken Trinder, head of business development at epyx.
“Now, manufacturers have been able to put menu pricing in place for hundreds, even thousands, of maintenance tasks that are carried out on fleet vehicles every day.”
Menu pricing has been available for many years but it has been difficult for many manufacturers, their dealers and fleets to administer, leading to fairly limited use.
“The benefits are considerable. Fleets are able to plan maintenance spending more effectively, while manufacturers and dealers become more effective at capturing fleet business as a result,” says Trinder.
