EMG Holdings, the Ford-based group with 10 dealerships across East Anglia, plans to sign up with more manufacturers after opening Mazda and Kia dealerships in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
The £85m turnover business is one of the 20 founding Ford retailers in the Retail Automotive Alliance, formed to increase bargaining power.
Ian Barrett, EMG managing director, says: “We are looking out for other franchises. We are ruling nothing in and nothing out. EMG’s place in RAA is not a factor – manufacturers will look at our reputation and at the team and decide whether we would be a good appointment if they have an open point.”
EMG was founded in 1999 with Ford dealerships in Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Spalding. Cambridge and Ely were added in 2000, Haverhill in 2001 and Kings Lynn and Wisbech in 2003.
