Analysis of future residual values for the model range has also been released. The TDV6 SE was compared to key rivals within the sector, and based on 36 months at 12,000 miles per annum, the Discovery 3 was forecast to retain 54.6% of its value new.
Wholelife cost data also shows a significant 42% reduction in the cost of ownership of the Discovery 3 compared to the out-going model.
Phil Popham, Land Rover UK managing director, said: "We are delighted with the cost of ownership research carried out across the large SUV sector at this early stage in the Discovery 3's retail life. Early signals suggest we are about to enter the market with a winner, and with its smart interior packaging, innovative technology and refinement and performance to rival anything in the sector, our UK dealer network is itching to get the Discovery 3 into showrooms."
