The Peugeot 1007 supermini will be making its public debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month alongside a radical 907 grand tourer concept with a carbon fibre body and 6.0- litre V12 engine.

The manufacturer will also display a modified 1007 RC design study, with 18in alloy wheels, twin exhausts, a rear spoiler and a black leather and Alcantara interior, hinting at Peugeot’s aim to attract style-conscious urban drivers from rivals such as the Citroen C3 and Renault Modus.

The 1007, which will arrive in UK showrooms next May, uses an electric sliding door to access the cabin. Its interior can be personalised with 12 patterned trim kits, for the seats, doors, rear side panels, air vents and fascia – as new or as aftersales revenue.

Engine options will be 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol units and a 1.4 litre HDi diesel.
