All prices for the Polo have been reduced £1,000 from now until September 30 this year. This means prices for the Polo start at £6,790 on the road for the entry-level 1.0-litre E model; while the range-topping GTI with its 1.6-litre 123bhp engine and six-speed gearbox costs £12,455.
The Polo Twist has added ‘Climatic’ semi-automatic climate control, 14" ‘Sao Paulo’ alloy wheels with anti-theft wheel bolts, front electric windows and metallic or pearl effect paint. Until September 30, prices for the Twist start at £8,995 on the road for the 1.2-litre with 63bhp and rise to £10,495. The Twist is available with three or five doors and with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines.
Until the end of the year the Golf will come with free ‘Climatic’ semi-automatic climate control on S models. Currently a £495 option, this will mean prices for the fifth-generation will start from £11,995 for the S 1.4-litre 73bhp with three doors.
The Bora is available until October with a number of price reductions. The base model, the Bora S 1.6, is reduced by £1,580, while other S models, plus the SE and Highline are all cut by £1,200. Finally, at the top of the range the Sport models benefit from £1,400 off. This means the Bora range starts at £11,995 for the S 1.6-litre.
For all customers purchasing a Beetle before the end of September, there is a price reduction of £500 (£750 off 1.6-litre). Recommended prices will therefore range from £10,990 to £18,035 for the V5 Sport Edition, excluding the New Beetle Cabriolet.
Complementing the Highline trim level from this month will be a new Passat model known as Trendline.
Where the Highline is based on the SE and gains extra equipment for a small premium, the Trendline is based on the entry-level S. In addition to the standard equipment list that includes ABS and ESP, twin front, side and curtain airbags, Climatronic electronic climate control, CD player, plus remote central locking with alarm, Trendline adds alloy wheels, a multi-function steering wheel and cruise control for no extra cost. £14,995 is the RRP for the 2.0-litre 128bhp petrol saloon model.
A new entry-level Sharan model , the S, has been introduced featuring ABS, air conditioning, seven seats, remote central locking with alarm, twin front and side airbags plus a curtain airbag system among a host of other items.
