Renault have added a new version to its supermini range, after just passing the 750,000 sales mark in the UK.

The Clio Extreme 3 is the third of the most recent releases from Renault, the Clio Renaultsport 182 and Renaultsport V6 255. The difference being that the Extreme 3 is the cheapest of all the sporty Clio models.

Available with the two engines, on-the-road prices are £8,495 for the 1.2 16V petrol three door and £9,195 for the 1.5 dCi 65 three door.

The Clio Extreme 3 1.2 16V offers a top speed of 106 mph and 0-62 mph of 13 seconds. With a capacity of 1,149 the petrol engine develops 75bhp at 5,500 rpm and torque of 105 Nm at 4,250 rpm. The 1.2 16V engine achieves 47.9 mpg in the combined cycle, and emissions of 139g CO2/km, which is seven mpg better than the class average.
