MetaSystem UK, a vehicle security manufacturer, has been appointed as DaimlerChrysler's new supplier of aftermarket security systems for the Smart model range.

The M750TDCS system is marketed as a security package which also includes locking wheel bolts to deter theft of the vehicle's wheels and a credit card sized instruction card for customers to keep handy.

Smart successfully achieved Thatcham approval for the factory fitted immobilisers on all roadsters and Smart Fortwo's manufactured since 2003. The new alarm upgrade supplied specifically for Smart will provide an improvement on the Thatcham rating.

All systems come with standard specification features including boot, bonnet and door protection, auto rearm and a diagnostic LED which acts as a theft deterent. In addition there is a touch key override and valet mode.
