Inchcape Retail has opened a new Toyota centre in Basingstoke, Hants, making it one of the carmaker's biggest dealers in the UK. The site, its tenth for Toyota, covers 1.6 acres and is located in the M3/M4 area.

Basingstoke is a new market for both Toyota and Inchcape and will complement Inchcape's existing Toyota sites in the nearby market areas at Guildford and Farnham in Surrey and Sandhurst, Kent.

The £2.5m showroom, which demonstrates the latest Toyota retail concept, has space for nine cars and a 90-vehicle used car display. It is expected to sell 1,000 new vehicles and 800 used.

There is also an eight-bay service centre and a plenty of room for customer parking, says Spencer Lock, Inchcape Retail operations director.

“Toyota currently represents an exciting opportunity within the UK. This dealership extends our coverage with Toyota and fits our retail strategy of developing large-scale relationships with key partners.”
