Dealers need to cast their sales net wider after a new survey found one in three used car buyers would travel more than 100 miles to get a good car. Carbidder.com, the online used car sales and auction site, says 32% of the 1000 owners surveyed would travel the distance while some would go even further.
Now it's launching an online sales facility for dealers. There is no charge when registering five or more cars but a fee of £20 must be paid when the car is sold. Dealers using the scheme include Torbay-based JV Motors, Jaguar specialist Beechdown Garages and VW specialist Belgrave Commercials.
Selene Regan, Carbidder.com founder, says: “We not only help dealers reach more car buyers all over the UK but also provide a medium for buyers who don't feel comfortable in dealerships or who prefer to buy online.”
