Motaquip is calling for new legislation and rigorous standards to be introduced for safety-critical parts such as steering and suspension to combat a 'growing influx of inferior parts into the UK'.
At present, only brake products (under directive ECE R90 of April 2001) are covered by legislation to govern the quality of replacement parts in the UK, but Motaquip's Vince Clisham says increasingly complex steering and suspension parts are also safety-critical.
