John Granby, a former senior executive at MG Rover, is launching a new UK-wide company into the daily rental market in January.

Granby’s new company, 4-Rental, is to use technology to provide a service to corporate and government bodies via its franchise network supported by his own staff.

4-Rental’s services are to include fleet management systems, online systems for manufacturers and customers to view vehicle history and a CRM system linking the sales team via permanently on-line handhelds.

4-Rental anticipates purchasing 4,000 vehicles in the first year.

Granby says: “We have negotiated with more than a dozen different manufacturers who are keen to supply us with cars.”
