The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI) has appointed a new head of aftermarket and used vehicle sales for the independent garage sector.

Michael Owen has been appointed to the new role, within the RMI's independent garage and fuel sector. He will be reporting in to Ray Holloway, director of the RMI's independent garage and fuel division.

Previously with RL Polk subsidiary Mitac, Owen has been employed in automotive consultancy and training for 35 years, mainly in the UK but with experience of Europe, Asia, and North America. He says, “The independent garage sector is facing huge changes post-Block Exemption, and I am delighted to be in a position to be able to help those in the sector adapt.”
