Bus operator Arriva has sold the last of its 33 car retailing operations with the disposal of three remaining sites in the West Country to Sytner Group.

The total sales, handled by executive director John Ray who has now resigned from the board, realised almost £70m – what Arriva describes as “broadly in line with book value”. Other buyers have included Hartwell, Drive Motor Retail and European Motor Holdings.
