GM Daewoo is to provide free aftersales services - even for cars whose warranty period have ended – as part of a “Charm Service' programme.

The package would comprise free emergency recovery service for its customers regardless of warranty status, and free remedial work if the problem occurs within 10,000km or six months of the initial service.

And if the maintenance service does not begin within 10 minutes of the appointment time, the customer will receive a 10 per cent discount on the work or discount coupons for future service, the carmaker says.

The new initiative was launched at the inauguration of GM Daewoo's Pupyong plant yesterday.

"The Korean dictionary defines the word 'charm' as 'truthful, righteous, sincere,' while the English meaning is 'to please, to be attractive'," said Nick Reilly, CEO of GM Daewoo.
