Brackley (Northants)-based sports car company FBS Cars – manufacturer of the recently-launched Census V6 sports car – has become a full member of the SMMT.

SMMT chief executive Christopher Macgowan says: "We are delighted to welcome FBS into full membership of the society which will enable the company to make its voice heard as part of the collective views from the UK motor industry.

“The British sports car industry is unique in the world in having such a wide and dynamic range of companies. The UK has a proud, global reputation of leading world design in motorsport and sports car technology. FBS will be an important part of the SMMT as pioneers in new technology."

Now in its fifth year of trading, FBS is working towards a medium term production target of 50 plus vehicles per year.
