Former Unipart Group proposition director Carl Brown has been appointed managing director of Hella, the automotive lighting and electronics supplier.

He replaces Wolfgang Benz, who has become the regional director of the Northern American Free Trade Association (NAFTA) after 12 years with Hella.

Brown has more than 25 years' automotive aftermarket experience and has held various senior posts with Brown Brothers and Partco as well as a year with Dana Corporation in the USA.

Commenting on his appointment, Brown says: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to build on the excellent foundations that have been laid at Hella over recent years. I look forward to a period of further growth and development, by capitalising on the company's distinctive and innovative approach.

“In particular, I will be looking to accelerate our programme aimed at providing unrivalled customer service and support.”
