The TGWU has called a 24-hour strike at Peugeot's Ryton car plant in Coventry, after balloted workers rejected a 7.3 per cent pay offer over two years.
T&G national secretary Dave Osborne has urged Peugeot to return to the negotiating table to reach a settlement or face what could be a "damaging dispute".
. Peugeot claims that only 40 per cent of workers eligible to vote had supported strike action and has already warned that a strike could jeopardise the plant.
