In the three months ending November 2003 total car production compared with the previous three months rose by 14.4 per cent, reports the Office for National Statistics.
Export production increased by 29.2 per cent while production allocated for the home market fell by 13.2 per cent. Compared with the same period a year ago, total car production not seasonally adjusted rose by 3.9 per cent. Production allocated for the export market rose by 15.3 per cent while home production fell by 18.6 per cent.
Total commercial vehicle production for the three months ending November 2003 rose by 28.7 per cent compared with the previous three months but fell by 9.6 per cent compared to the same period a year ago.
