Citroen is pitching its new C8 people carrier at the executive company car market as well as at the private buyer looking for a large family vehicle.

The C8 interior space can accommodate up to eight passengers, while the Quickfix instant seat anchoring system maximizes interior flexibility. By removing the rear seats the load area can easily be extended, and it boasts more than 50 separate storage areas.

It features stiffened body and larger diameter anti-roll bars. And with wider front and rear track, this all combines to provide the driver with sure-footed road holding and handling, says the carmaker.

It has achieved a 4-star Euro NCAP rating. All models come with six airbags as standard, including two curtain airbags to protect the heads of passengers in all three rows, as well as 3-point seatbelts all round. ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Braking Assistance is standard, while ESP with traction control is available across the range.

Capable of achieving 40 mpg or 122mph, the New C8 range is powered by a choice of 138hp 2.0i 16V or 160hp 2.2i 16v petrol engines - the former available with a sequential automatic gearbox and the latter making its Citroën debut - or ultra-clean 109hp 2.0HDi or 130hp 2.2 HDi diesel units, both of which are fitted with the Company's award-winning Particulate Filter.

Buyers can choose from four trim levels - LX, SX, Exclusive and Exclusive Captain Chair - with recommended retail prices ranging from £18,295 for the entry level 2.0i 16V LX to £26,095 for the 2.2HDi Exclusive Captain Chair which offers six luxurious 'captain chairs' in full leather upholstery.
