Unipart Demand Chain Management (DCM), the logistics division of the Unipart group, is launching a range of web-based inventory management services.

The new system allows clients to manage the replacement parts inventory in their national dealer networks on a centralised basis.

Unipart Parts Replenisher (UPR) can manage dealer stock levels across a wide range of industry sectors. It uses sophisticated modelling techniques to calculate optimum stock levels for an outlet and automatically replenishes stock to that level.

The system has been proved to cut down on lost sales by increasing product availability at point of sale, while at the same time improving stock returns and reducing the number of emergency orders.

It also provides central parts operation with visibility on actual levels of parts availability delivered by the dealer or branch network to the end-customer.

UPR is currently being implemented at Jaguar's UK franchised dealer network and will soon be rolled out for Partco, the UK's largest independent distributor of automotive components.
