Mitsubishi Motors UK has changed its new and used car warranty programmes in a move designed to give owners improved cover and increase selling opportunities for dealers.

Its Red Zebra approved used car programme now caters for grey and parallel imports. Red Zebra and New Extended warranty products to cover batteries which have been excluded as a wear and tear item. Factory fitted audio equipment and catalytic convertors are also covered.

Mitsubishi - with programme administrator Mondial Assistance - has also reduced the number of warranty options on offer and simplified the pricing structure. The level of cover has been extended to include MoTs, working alongside the mechanical and electrical failure cover.

To cater for customers of older vehicles, the Key Cover warranty has been introduced to target dealers selling high mileage vehicles. Key Cover covers vehicles of any mileage or age.

Mondial is training dealers to support the new products.
