The Peugeot 307 has won the 2002 European Car of the Year Award. The 52 judges voted for the French-built car from a short list of seven vehicles from an initial 29 eligible cars.

The 307 beat the Renault Laguna into second place and the Fiat Stilo into third. Fourth was the new Mini, fifth Honda Civic, sixth Citroen C5 and seventh Jaguar X Type. (November 20, 2001)
