BCA Direct, which sources vehicles from manufacturers, contract hire and fleet operators, offers three transaction methods: fixed-price instant purchase, electronic auctions and tenders. A Pipeline stock module gives dealers advance notice of vehicles that will shortly become available.
A BCA spokesman said the online option would help selected dealers - typically retailers who specialise in the late-plate vehicles offered by the system - to “maximise their profit opportunities”.
They could purchase “quality stock with BCA benefits and an infrastructure that remarkets and delivers to dealers”. The spokesman said the system would handle “thousands” of cars a year up to 60,000 miles/four years old, “cherry picked from the best stock”.
The BCA Direct stock locator contains descriptions and condition reports with values and images. BCA Direct will be rolled out across Europe by the end of the year ultimately leading to pan-European remarketing and vehicle sourcing.
