Vauxhall has increased the size of its dealership network ready for a growth of light and medium commercial vehicle sales targeted at almost 20% over the next two years.
Vauxhall's commercial vehicle network had grown from 180 dealers to 203 over the past year giving the manufacturer the largest CV dealer representation of any marque in the UK.
The network is being prepared for new product coming out of the joint venture with Renault. A replacement for the Arena medium commercial will be built in Luton from next year. A Corsa-derived van will follow the launch of the new Corsa car in the last quarter of the year.
Vauxhall plans to build CV sales to 27,000 units this year and to add 3,000 units in 2001. In 1999, the company sold 24,358 units.
