Gregory Distribution, which runs a fleet of 400 vehicles from its base in Exeter, Devon, is claiming fuel savings of up to 6% following a field trial in conjunction with Shell.

A team from Shell Global Solutions assisted with the programme, which used Shell's fuel economy package of Pura Diesel and synthetic engine and gear oils.

Vehicles were monitored for a month to established a baseline for comparison with six continuing to use standard Shell products while six others were switched to the economy range.
