Pentagon has added two new BYD dealerships to its portfolio in Derby and Nottingham, joining the dealership that opened in Lincoln at the end of last year.
David Peel, managing director of Pentagon Motor Group, said: "We have been very encouraged by the performance of our BYD dealership at Pentagon Motor Village in Lincoln. Customers appreciate the safety, performance, and build quality of the marque, which has driven strong interest and sales among private individuals and fleet buyers."
As part of the pre-planning process, the dealership group visited BYD’s headquarters in China. "The visit was extremely impressive," Peel said. "BYD controls almost every aspect of the manufacturing process through its own supply chain companies, ensuring high build quality. Their products are designed with the UK and European markets in mind."
The new BYD showrooms in Derby and Nottingham share their sites with existing Pentagon Motor Group Vauxhall operations.
Rob Schofield, brand director, noted: "We coordinated with our Vauxhall colleagues and agreed that introducing BYD to these sites would increase interest and footfall for both brands, as seen in Lincoln. The range and nature of BYD products complement our existing offerings well."
Alongside the new BYD dealerships, Pentagon has upgraded the Vauxhall units at both locations.
The new BYD showrooms were launched quickly, aligning with BYD’s role as the Official E-Mobility Partner of the UEFA European Football Championship 2024. "We wanted to support this strong promotion, so both showrooms were open just before the first game on June 14," Peel added.
Pentagon Motor Group now has 66 franchise points at 38 locations, covering both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles with 18 brands across its Midlands and Northern footprint.
