Waylands Automotive has won the headline 2024 AM Award for Retailer of the Year.
The shortlist for this headline award, sponsored by Assurant, comes from the winners of the two Dealer Group of the Year categories and the Used Car Dealer of the Year category.
Each has its own incredible strengths but after significant debate the judges decided that on the evidence of these already successful businesses’ submissions, and the findings of awards auditor UHY Hacker Young, their unanimous winner was Waylands Automotive.

As one judge put it: “Waylands is just amazing with everything they do.”
Judges commended the group on its continuing success in recruiting and developing the right staff for the business, which is seen as a foundation of its highly rated customer experience.
The detailed citations for ALL the 2024 AM Awards winners, and all the photos from the amazing event, will be published in a special digital report on AM-online on May 14.
The judges felt that its leadership team brilliantly manages a complex multi-brand dealer group, makes sound investment decisions in facilities and systems and guides their workforce through a rapidly changing sector with confidence.
This was even when one of Waylands’ key manufacturer partners changed its business model, and all its OEM partners are rapidly progressing to a zero emissions line-up, with strong sales of electric cars.
The efforts of the group are paying dividends. Its revenues and operating profits continue to rise.
Even if Waylands climbs further up the AM100 ranking, the judges expect its focus on being a ‘local hero’ to its customers to continue, and its partnership with OEMs to thrive.
The finalists in this category are the winners of:
Dealer Group of the Year (up to 10 sites) - Waylands Automotive
Dealer Group of the Year (more than 10 sites) - TrustFord
Used Car Dealer of the Year - Luscombe Leeds
