Smart City-Cabrio soft-top set for spring launch

Official UK sales of the Smart City-Cabriolet start in spring 2001. The two-seater convertible version of the Smart City-Coupe has a partially electric soft-top and will be available in the top of the range smart and passion trim.

The car is powered by a three cylinder, 600cc petrol engine developing 54bhp at 5,259rpm. It is fitted with the sequential, six-speed, manual transmission and fully automatic mode, available at the touch of the button.

The City-Cabrio has ABS as standard and electronic brake force distribution. It comes with Trustplus, the electronic traction and stability control programme, also as standard. Other standard equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, air conditioning, electric windows, alloy wheels, radio, rev counter and clock.

Prices for the City-Cabrio will be announced nearer to launch.
