Review

Skoda has added the Scout to its Fabia range, to pep up its worthy but conservative B-segment estate.

The plastic body cladding hints at SUV-like ruggedness.

However, it’s only cosmetic. Fabia Scout has no aspirations to be a 4x4.

But with the range-topping 105bhp diesel, the car is sprightly yet economical to run and it offers a decent amount of space.

Based on the Fabia 2 estate, which is about £1,200 cheaper, Scout adds cruise control, ESP, electric windows, leather steering wheel, alloy wheels and a front armrest.

It’s a more distinctive, well equipped option for Fabia buyers.
