Review
Seat has given a sneak preview of the most powerful production car it has ever produced – the Leon Cupra R.
This prototype combines the 210bhp 1.8-litre 20v engine and 6-speed gearbox with Seat's 'agile chassis concept' (ACC) giving the car a top speed of 148mph and 0-62mph of seven seconds. ACC incorporates stiffer coil springs and shock absorbers and larger anti-roll bars to improve agility and give a sportier driving feel.
The Leon Cupra R (pictured) also has anti-lock brakes, traction control and electronic stability programme.
The change in looks includes the honeycomb mesh radiator grille and air intakes in the front bumper, 17-inch five double-spoke alloys and an angular rear bumper, chrome oval exhaust and the 'R' badge on the tailgate.
The interior is jet-black with white instrument dials and a red 'R' symbol on the Recaro seat backs.
