2008 Hummer HX Concept

Hummer’s HX concept showed the manufacturer’s vision for the future of four-wheel drive vehicles.

An entry-level model, the HX features Hummer’s distinctive family styling, and sits on a wheelbase 225mm shorter than the compact H3.

Torque is automatically transferred between locking differentials on the front and rear axles, giving it the off-road ability to match the rugged styling.

Under the bonnet is a 3.6-litre V6 FlexFuel engine, which can run on petrol or ethanol-based E85 fuel.

Large body panels are designed to be removed by hand, allowing easy repairs and more clearance for off-road driving.

The roof and rear load bay covers can also be removed quickly, transforming the HX into an open-top, sports pick-up or wagon.
