During a presentation to the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), William Brown, managing director at IML and head of Xpeng UK, stressed the importance of strong dealer partnerships.

“We firmly believe that a network of strong dealer partners is critical for delivering a positive brand experience to customers. While some manufacturers have shifted to direct-to-consumer sales models, we remain committed to the traditional dealer model.”

IML said it plans to work with forward-thinking dealers passionate about EVs to provide Xpeng customers with excellent coverage across the UK.

By the end of 2025, up to 20 retailers are expected to be in place, supported by a wider aftersales network. Further expansion could see the network grow to 40 retailers by the end of 2026 as sales volumes increase.
