The first trade vehicle auction at the former Cazoo site in Bedford will take place this week.

The launch sale for G3 Bedford is being held on Wednesday, June 19, with more than 250 vehicles due to pass through the auction from a variety of vendors, including some new to G3 Vehicle Auctions.

In May G3 acquired the Bedford Cazoo Wholesale site ahead of failed motor retailer Cazoo calling in administrators to try to find a buyer for its remaining used car marketplace business.

Established in 2009 by Matthew Dale and Amanda Holtby, G3 Vehicle Auctions was created to launch a digital auction at a time when physical was all the industry knew, and as the business grew it opened its first physical auction property at Castleford in 2020.

The Bedford auction site, some 130 miles south of G3 Castleford, has doubled the company's operational footprint to over 28 acres, increasing stock capacity and servicing a much broader base of motor traders.

Buyers can view the stock the day before the inaugural sale event and from 8.30am on the sale day.

On Wednesday, the first sale at 11am will be LCVs including Dawson Group and AVIS, then the sale will move into a fleet vehicle section from 12pm to include Europcar, Hertz and Liquid Fleet. The final section will feature 80 vehicles from Oodle Car Finance, followed by finance house and dealer stock.

From June 24, sales days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, mirroring the G3 Castleford centre, with Monday offering the Essential sale, Wednesday offering the LCV and Economy sale and Friday offering the Elite fleet sale.

Group auction manager Liam Corcoran said: “We are excited to now announce the launch of the G3 Bedford site to both our existing G3 customers and the new wave of buyers we have seen apply over the last few days as we lead up to the sale. It is inspiring to see the ever-growing list of buyers already booked in to join the auctioneer team and I, for viewings of the vehicles pre-sale where we look forward to meeting dealers to assist walking the lines ahead of auction.”

G3 said it has already received over 1,000 buyer account requests in the last two weeks following the news of the addition centre.
