Speculation surrounding the future of Bradford Audi had been building for weeks. Last month, the Telegraph & Argus pressed for clarification when rumours of the shutdown first surfaced.

Bradford-based AM100 dealer group JCT600 acknowledged the situation in a social media post on November 8.

Offering support to affected employees, JCT600 wrote: “It’s been extremely sad to hear the recent news about the closure of Bradford Audi. For anyone facing redundancy or open to work following these closures, we’ve got a range of positions available across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, and the North East, including technician roles, aftersales, sales, marketing, customer service, and more.”

The news follows the closure last month of another dealership that had been serving Bradford for more than 70 years. The city's Mercedes-Benz site, based on Thornton Road, became the first dealer and distributor for all Mercedes in the North of England and was the oldest in the UK. In 2008, it was taken over by Pendragon and had been running under the management of Stratstone.
