John Clark Motor Group has rolled out Car Delivery Network’s cloud based vinDISPATCH software across its network of 38 sites.
According to Stuart MacKinnon, group remarketing services manager, trials of the CDN (Car Delivery Network) app last year delivered significant time and cost savings, increasing efficiency and enhancing customer service.
He said: “In order to move vehicles previously, we would have to spend time calling around the usual transport companies, often finding that because our dealerships are located the length and breadth of Scotland, we would have to wait until the following week, or as and when space became available – particularly when trying to move cars from the South.
“For example, getting used cars for one of our sites from Edinburgh to Elgin proved a real challenge before we adopted vinDISPATCH as few drivers go so far North, but now we can quickly and easily arrange cars to be moved to any of our dealerships, simply by posting our requirements onto the CDN cloud."
The vinDISPATCH software offers companies the ability to match and control vehicle delivery requirements with a network of approved transport companies.
“It’s key for us to get vehicles on site as soon as possible,” said MacKinnon.
“We’ve found that the drivers on CDN’s vinDISPATCH are excellent. We actually had one vehicle break down en-route and the driver went out of his way to fetch a battery, sort out the problem and still managed to deliver on time – that’s real service in my opinion.
“We’re impressed and we’ll be rolling the software out across all sites.”
