Pendragon’s Pinewood car dealer software provider has expanded its reach into the Dutch automotive sector with the roll-out of its DMS offering to Hyundai franchisee Dirk Barten Group.
Dirk Barten operates seven Hyundai dealerships across Holland and the group will be embracing the Pinewood solution, which incorporates CRM, commercial vehicle sales, reception, showroom, workshop, parts, accounting and business intelligence functions.
Pinewood also have a presence in the Dutch commercial vehicle sector with BAS Trucks, who are Europe’s largest used truck and trailer dealer, which sits alongside Volvo and Renault commercial vehicles among an extensive list of over 50 car, truck and motorcycle brands represented by dealers who run on Pinewood DMS.
Pinewood Technologies’ Partner, Grayhams, has the licence to bring Pinewood DMS to the Netherlands. Grayhams were appointed as a partner in 2016 and its co-founders, Ronald van der Vlist and Martijn van Pinxteren, boast more than 40 years of experience between them in the automotive and truck sector.
Based in Birmingham (UK) the Pinewood business has grown rapidly and today employs over 200 team members from over 20 different countries.
In December 2017, Pendragon chief executive Trevor Finn announced plans for the group to base its future growth around a new strategy which would include a doubling of its profit from used cars, a re-appraisal of its UK car franchises and a focus on the operations of its Pinewood DMS software division.
Earlier this month the group said that its Pinewood DMS software division had made “good progress”, realising revenues of £8.4 million and an operation profit of £5.6 million during the first half of 2018 as part of its interim financial results to June 31.
In the first half of the year it has implemented the software into customers with an addressable user base of over 1,200.
SaaS is also being made available to new international markets using Microsoft Azure which is currently available in 140 countries.
