Startline Motor Finance has significantly improved the efficiency of processing motor finance applications through the adoption of advanced biometric eSign technology.

As part of the new process, all applicants must undergo a biometric identity and verification check. This involves the customer taking a selfie alongside their driving licence or other photographic ID. Facial recognition tools then compare the two images to ensure authenticity.

Paul Burgess, CEO of Startline, praised the technology: “The algorithms extract biometric data from the selfie and match it to the driving licence image, ensuring the signer is genuine. While fraud in motor finance applications is rare, this adds a new layer of security and provides a fast and easy online eSign process for applicants.”

In addition to the biometric eSign, the company has launched a new business portal which enables car dealers and other introducers to receive funds more quickly.

“Since the portal’s introduction, payout times for motor finance have been reduced by 30%. We prioritise making payouts as swiftly as possible once a car buyer is approved for finance. This new technology, representing a significant investment, is a major advancement in this area,” he added.
