The MFG Group has announced the appointment of Gary Richardson as national account manager UK, as part of its continued global expansion.
Reporting directly to head of sales and performance Pita Marroni, Richardson (pictured) will be directly responsible for maintaining the existing UK business and growing the MFG Group’s presence in its highly important home market.
Having initially qualified in mechanical engineering with the Ministry of Defence Gary began his automotive career in 1985 as a business manager within the VAG Group.
He worked in a variety of management roles at Ford, Rover and BMW dealers across the UK and moved into a BMW UK customer service manager role.
MFG Group’s chief executive, Declan Gaule, said: “Having worked with Gary in BMW UK, I have first hand knowledge of Gary’s passion for the automotive industry.
"With over 30 years’ experience, he has helped to develop successful automotive operations across diverse markets.
"His appointment will ensure that MFG’s proven automotive solutions continue to add value and profitable unit sales to our existing and ever-expanding customer base.
“There are few areas in the industry that Gary has not applied himself to successfully, this desire for success and extensive industry experience will ensure MFG’s continued UK growth is in safe hands. The whole team are greatly looking forward to working with Gary and implementing his ideas and approaches.”
Richardson moved into BMW and Mini aftersales development and following the successful rollout of a number of BMW AG initiatives, he became business development, based in the South West.
He held several roles including BMW UK’s aftersales manager, and was headhunted as regional development manager for a Jamaican dealer group.
Success in the Caribbean / Latin American Region led to a short period as group aftersales director for BMW, Mini, Audi, VW, Porsche and Kia returning to the UK in 2018, and immediately joining the MFG Group.
Richardson said: “I am delighted to take on this new role for the MFG Group at such an exciting stage of its development.
“I’m looking forward to applying my experience gained across many roles in both manufacturers and retailers to secure and enhance MFG’s presence in the UK market, re-engaging with many of my associates from across the UK dealer networks to help them drive tangible, sustainable sales results with equal emphasis on class leading ROI and legacy training.”
