Motorpoint has appointed Gavin Morgans as general manager of its £5 million Birtley car supermarket.

Morgans will oversee the 50-strong team based at the nine-acre supersite near Chester-Le-Street and will be supported by sales manager Kevin Newton.

Commenting on his new posting, he said: “I am thrilled to be joining Motorpoint and the opportunity to work with my team to further promote the car buyers champion’s award-winning brand of choice, value and services across the North East.”

Motorpoint invested over £5m developing its first site in the North East as part of its on-going national expansion programme in late 2015.

Based on Durham Road, Birtley, Motorpoint stocks over 500 new and nearly new low mileage cars from 30 different vehicle manufacturers with access to a further 7,000 cars in group stock.
