DEKRA Automotive has announced the appointment of former Inchcape chief executive Robert Hazelwood as its UK managing director.
Hazelwood takes over from Mike Budny who has moved on to a new role within DEKRA organisation.
His previous experience has seen him worked in the UK for several brands such as Peugeot, Citroën and Nissan and as brand director of Skoda and then Volkswagen during a nine-year spell with the Volkswagen Group.
Hazelwood’s retail experience is also significant as he has been chief executive of Inchcape UK and UK managing director of BCA Marketplace plc.
Budny said: “I would not have handed over the MD reins unless we had found the right person to replace me and someone who understands the unique culture in the business. Robert is that person and fits the profile”.
Hazelwood said: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role and would like to thank Mike, Alex and the DEKRA board for their support.
“In a challenging market, I’m confident that DEKRA can continue to provide outstanding customer service and business improvement for its long standing automotive client base.”
