The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reports that diesel car registrations, which accounted for 48.5% of the market in 2015, fell to just 3.8% in 2023.This marks a drastic reduction, with only 71,501 diesel cars sold in 2023 compared to over 1.27 million in 2015 - just 5.6% of 2015’s sales.
