New Mercedes CLA on sale priced from £30,550

Mercedes-Benz retailers have begun taking orders for the all-new CLA coupe ahead of its arrival in UK showrooms - priced from £30,550.

The CLA is a four-door coupe, based on the A-Class, which is initially available with a range of petrol engines.

First deliveries are expected in the Summer.

The entry-level CLA 180 uses a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 136PS and emits 123g/km of CO2. It’s the most efficient model available until the diesel-powered CLA 200d and CLA 220d are available later in the year.

The CLA 200 petrol uses the same 1.3-litre engine but develops 163PS with CO2 emissions of 124g/km.

A 2.0-litre petrol engine is used in the CLA 220 and CLA 250, producing 190PS and 224PS respectively.

The CLA 220 is also available with 4Matic all-wheel-drive.

All models will be initially available with a 7G-DCT seven-speed automatic transmission, with a manual gearbox coming later.

The CLA Shooting Brake, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, will be going on sale in May.

AMG Line models come as standard with a 10.25-inch digital touchscreen infotainment display, seven-inch digital cockpit display, LED headlights, privacy glass, climate control, keyless starting function, heated front seats and leather upholstery.

AMG Line Premium trim adds a 10.25-inch digital cockpit display, augmented navigation, a dash cam, ambient lighting and keyless lock and unlock.

AMG Line Premium Plus adds a panoramic sliding sunroof, Multibeam LED headlights and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and memory seats for the driver and front passenger.

The Driving Assistance package is available for £1,495, which includes a full suite of driver assistance systems; including adaptive crusie control.
