Marshall Motor Group has expanded in Reading with an acquisition of a Seat and Cupra dealership from Citygate following a strategic review of representation.

Marshall already has dealerships in the Berkshire town representing the other Volkswagen Group brands Skoda, Volkswagen and Volkswagen Vans, plus Honda and Nissan.

This deal occurs in the same week that Citygate took over AM Award-winning St Albans Volkswagen from Marshall.

The Peppard Road site was Citygate's only dealership in Reading.

In its announcement, Marshall said Reading is a key retail territory for the Seat and Cupra brands.

The AM100 dealer group now has three Cupra dealerships and five Seat showrooms.

Gary Savage, chief executive at Constellation Retail, which owns Marshall Motor Group, said: “This acquisition is another step in our strategy to grow scale with existing brand partners in new geographic territories. We are delighted to represent Seat and Cupra in Reading. I am pleased to welcome our new colleagues to Marshall and look forward to building on the strong foundations already in place.”
