Marshall Motor Group has expanded in Kent with an acquisition of a supercar dealership.

It has taken over Aston Martin Sevenoaks from Lithia Motors, and 25 staff have tranferred to Marshall, which is part of Constellation Automotive Group, which also owns Cinch, BCA and WeBuyAnyCar.

It is Marshall's first representation point with Aston Martin and the AM100 group's only luxury car franchised dealership. A previous partnership with Maserati last decade proved unsuccessful after the Italian luxury car brand was unable to live up to its sales volume ambitions.

“We are delighted to begin a new and significant partnership with Aston Martin," said Marshall chief executive Martin Casha.

"This iconic British brand has been a target for the group for some time and the acquisition of Aston Martin Sevenoaks, in Kent, realises the group’s entry into the ultra-luxury sports car market.”

Casha said that Aston Martin, with its rich heritage and a name synonymous with automotive excellence and racing success, is a great fit for Marshall and the dealership is well placed to serve customers from across Kent and the south east of England.

It is a region Marshall knows well, as under its previous chief executive Daksh Gupta in 2021 it acquired Motorline, a fellow AM100 dealer group with a strong presence in the county.

Casha added: “I would like to thank the team at Aston Martin Lagonda and very much look forward to working with them over the coming years to develop a mutually successful partnership. I would also like to welcome all of our new colleagues to Marshall and look forward to seeing them grow and develop the business further.”

Marshall's undisclosed investment was welcomed by Oliver Turner, regional president of Aston Martin in the UK & South Africa, who said  the "significant investment plan" represents the positive trajectory of the Aston Martin brand and a strong confidence in its supercar range.

The recently launched Vanquish has joined DB12, Vantage and DBX707 as the most diverse, dynamic and desirable line-up in Aston Martin's segment, Turner said.

Marshall now operates 143 franchised dealerships representing 24 manufacturer car, van, truck and motorcycle brands across 34 counties in England.
