Audi has revealed pictures and details of the production version of its Q8 flagship SUV.
The new model will launch in the summer, costing from £65,000 and giving Audi dealers a credible alternative to a Range Rover Sport or BMW X6.
It will be initially offered with a single 3.0-litre diesel engine developing 286PS, a less powerful diesel and turbo petrol engine are expected to join the line up next year.
Full pricing is expected to be released next month, when the car is available to order.
Audi says the five-seat Q8 offers as much interior space as a Q7, but with a smaller and sleeker body.
As a range-topping model, the Q8 features technology from the recently-launched A8 luxury saloon.
Mild hybrid technology incorporating a 48v electrical system is used to boost both performance and efficiency.
Matrix LED headlights are fitted as standard, providing greater illumination and the brand’s new multi-screen MMI touch interface also features.
A range of the latest driver assistance systems are available on the Q8. Remote parking assist allows the driver to activate the self-parking function from a smartphone outside the vehicle.
Adaptive cruise control with steering assist takes care of braking accelerating and keeps the vehicle in a given lane.
Emergency Assist brings the car to a standstill and activates the hazard warning lights if the car senses that the driver has become incapacitated.
