Julian Stockton is bowing out of Uttoxeter-based used car retailer Angus MacKinnon after leading its sales operations for the last seven years.

AM awarded Stockton and his sales team the title of Independent Dealer of the Year in 2022 and the dealership has also won six other national motor trade awards during his tenure.

“The sales team has been brilliant over the years, winning seven national motor trade awards and providing industry leading customer satisfaction levels to our customers as demonstrated in our almost 2,000 online 5 star customer reviews across AutoTrader and Google.

“It has been fantastic to see the improvements in PPU, stock turn, finance & warranty profit and the holy grail of achieving well over 100% ROI in used cars. A big thank you to managing director Stuart MacKinnon for his trust in me over the years.”

Stockton said he planned to announce his future plans in a few weeks’ time and that it “will definitely benefit every used car sales operation in the UK when it’s launched in Q1 2025”.

Angus MacKinnon started the business in 1975 from a small rented workshop alongside a petrol station in Doveridge, Derbyshire, and has grown to serve car buyers across Derby, Burton Upon Trent, Stoke on Trent, Loughborough and Leicester.
