AM100 dealer group Mon Motors has recruited a highly experienced motor retailer into the role of group operations director.

Stephen Dean has joined Mon Motors, the Cleverly family's group which operates dealerships in Wales and the west of England. It is currently ranked 51 in the AM100.

Dean (pictured), a fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry, has extensive experience in operations management and a passion for growing and driving success.

Stephen Dean has joined Mon Motors, the Cleverly family's group which operates dealerships in Wales and the west of England. It is currently ranked 51 in the AM100.

Dean (pictured), a fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry, has extensive experience in operations management and a passion for growing and driving success.

Most recently heading TrustFord's Birmingham operation, he was previously operations director at Norton Way, part of the AM100 group Marubeni which also owns RRG Group.

Prior to that he had held brand or franchise director roles with Lookers, Jardine Motors Group and Vindis Group.

In his new role he will be responsible for the operational performance of all divisions of Mon Motors Group, which has dealerships in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport and Weston-super-Mare and which represents premium brands Audi and Volvo as well as mainstream brands Cupra, Ford, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen.

In 2024 Mon Motors increased its partnership with Volkswagen Group with an acquisition of seven dealerships from Heritage Automotive.

That expansion came just two years after the group secured its first Volvo franchise, at Cardiff.
