Vehicle remarketing specialist Aston Barclay has appointed Eddie Thomson to the newly created role of chief operating officer.

Thomson’s previous roles include national operations director for SMA, sales and operations director for BCA, and most recently head of business development for Adesa.

He will be part of the executive leadership team at Aston Barclay Group and will oversee all of Aston Barclay’s auction operations as well as strategic projects.

His appointment comes at a period of growth with new vendor partnerships and the launch of a new sale at its Chelmsford centre.

Greg MacLeod, executive chairman at Aston Barclay said: “We have recently extended our operating hours to provide greater flexibility for customers and Eddie’s appointment as COO further demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent customer service.

“Eddie’s expertise and leadership will continue to enhance our overall service quality, ensuring that our customers benefit from optimised auction processes and even quicker turnaround times.”

Thomson said: “Those who know me within the remarketing industry will tell you that I am passionate about implementing operational excellence to provide a first-class customer service. I look forward to working with our customers to maximise the conversion of their vehicles, as well as reducing the number of days it takes to sell them.”
