Eden Motor Group has celebrated its colleagues that go above and beyond as part of its Excellence Awards.
The group held a black tie event at a hotel in Knightsbridge, London and a total of 21 winners across multiple categories were nominated to take home the awards.
Colleagues across the group nominated who they think should win in each category in roles from aftersales advisors to sales executives and across all age groups, from junior colleagues to some of Eden’s longest-serving colleagues.
Graeme Potts, Eden chief executive, said: “These awards recognise excellence at the very top level across our company and I hope that our partners, their family and friends are very proud of the recipients of the awards, who represent all of the family-led values we strive for.
“The Excellence Awards bring to the fore the recognition that is very much a core to our company, rewarding colleagues for their efforts, their attitudes and their achievements, based on the values that are such an important part of Eden.
“We handed out 21 awards in total, but it could so easily have been 40 or 60 given the sheer number of people who were recommended by their colleagues.”
Among the top award-winners were founder colleague Nicola Hadley, who took home the CEO’s Special Award for her long service and selfless support of colleagues.
When introducing the award and Nicola’s contribution to Eden, James Kurd, sales director said: “Nicola has always been utterly professional and a great Eden ambassador.
“She is a fantastic role-model for women in the industry who is well respected by colleagues and stakeholders alike.
“If it weren’t for Nicola’s support, coaching and guidance, many of Eden’s senior leaders wouldn’t be where they are today and we are all eternally grateful to her for helping us with our careers.”
Other notable winners were Gary Treeby, technical support from Eden’s Vauxhall dealership in Torbay.
Treeby has over 26 years’ continuous service and is recognised as being the region’s go-to man for technical queries. His dedication was described as being “unrivalled” and “he’s always willing to go the extra mile to solve a problem for a customer or colleague and, for Gary, no job is too big or too small”.
Eden’s youngest winner was Sam Copsey, apprentice at Eden’s Exeter dealership.
Even though Copsey is still in his apprenticeship, he was recognised as already having the ability to do some very technical and difficult jobs such as working on gearboxes and changing engines.
His colleagues said: “Sam is a wonderful team player. He is eager to learn, always has a smile on his face and fits in extremely well. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”
Every colleague nominated walked away with an engraved crystal trophy, a £500 cash award and a fully funded night away in a top London hotel for them and a guest.
Eden Group represents seven brands across 24 dealerships in Hampshire, Dorset, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, Worcestershire, Somerset, Devon and Warwickshire.
